Fan frustration, lack of salaries – Kenya in plain language – “there is only chaos”

Debacle at the bottom of the table! KFC Uerdingen put a spanner in the works in the race for the Regionalliga West and lost 3:1 at TSV Meerbusch.

It can happen that quickly. KFC Uerdingen have only just cut a really good figure in the battle for promotion in the Oberliga Niederrhein, and the Krefeld side have already suffered a completely unnecessary setback.

KFC lost the game at bottom club TSV Meerbusch in the first half. In the end, the team of Johannes Dahms and Levan Kenia suffered a 1:3 slip-up of the very finest kind.

The debacle began when TSV took a 1:0 lead. Mohamed Benktib opened the horror phase for Uerdingen in the 19th minute. Jacob Ballah (30) and Vincent Boldt (35) exacerbated the crisis in the Blue & Reds’ game. Alexander Lipinski’s penalty (53) was not enough to bring the team back into contention.

Samir Sisic, coach of the home side, mentioned before the game that the loser “will be brutally hurt by the defeat”.

The KFC team experienced this first-hand after the match. Once again, there was huge frustration among the fans, who sought a dialog with the players and coaches. “If you play like shit, no one will pay” or “What kind of promotion? You saw that today” were the words coming from the outside. The two sides continued to talk for a good half hour after the final whistle.

Kenya gave a more detailed insight into the topics discussed with the KFC supporters: “We talked about the usual KFC problems. The finances, economic planning. It’s been on our minds for a long time and last week it was extreme. Nothing is good. We still haven’t received our salaries and we’re waiting. “

Uerdingen are once again plagued by the same old problem. Kenia’s frustration was palpable: “I have to think for myself whether it makes any sense to carry on. We have no security and it’s just chaos. People are always saying tomorrow, the day after tomorrow.”

The future of the traditional Krefeld club is once again uncertain. Kenya is calling for solutions: “We have a new board. You have to ask them what the situation is here. However, I think they will then say again that a plan is coming soon. So far, nothing has been done and I don’t know if anything will be done at all.”

In sporting terms at least, the situation in the battle for promotion has not changed. Due to Germania Ratingen’s home defeat against Sportfreunde Baumberg, KFC are still one point behind their opponents.

TSV Meerbusch, on the other hand, sent out an exclamation mark in the basement and showed the rest of the cellar children that the Sisic eleven are far from giving up
