Farewells against Wattenscheid – these four players leave, Davari also facing retirement

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen will say goodbye to a number of players on Saturday (2 p.m., RevierSport live ticker) on the sidelines of the final home game of the season against Wattenscheid. RS knows the names.

On Saturday (2 p.m., RevierSport live ticker), the traditional duel between Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and SG Wattenscheid 09 will take place at the Niederrhein stadium.

For RWO, it is the 17th home game of the season – balance: nine wins, three draws, four defeats – and thus also the last game at Lindnerstrasse. And like every season, the last home game also sees off players.

In the case of the Kleeblättern, four men will be officially bid farewell before the duel against Wattenscheid. The transfers of Nils Winter to Alemannia Aachen and Nico Petritt to the U23 team of Fortuna Düsseldorf have been known for weeks. A new addition is that Jerome Propheter and Aaron Berzel will also be leaving the club.

While Berzel’s new club has not yet been determined, Propheter, who has not been presented with a new RWO offer, will join 1. FC Düren, according to RevierSport information.

Further departures have not been ruled out at Oberhausen. As RevierSport learned, there are still question marks behind the future of Kilian Skolik, Kelvin Lunga, Pierre Fassnacht, Anton Heinz and Jan-Lucas Dorow. With some of these players, whose contracts expire, the Oberhausener responsible persons around sport boss Patrick Bauder still lead discussions. According to our information, Dorow, for example, is also in talks with Alemannia Aachen.

Heinz, in whom some third-league clubs have expressed interest, is likely to leave RWO. Those responsible want to keep Fassnacht at all costs. Skolik and Lunga are also more likely to leave.

The same applies to Daniel Davari. The 35-year-old goalkeeper, who has a contract until June 30, 2024, will no longer guard the RWO goal for the new season, according to RS information. Here, Red-White is to look for a solution. Possibly with a continued employment at the RWO office. Robin Benz, who recently extended his contract, will thus become the new number one in the Kleeblatt box.
