The professional footballer Kai Brünker of the second division team 1. FC Magdeburg, who comes from Villingen-Schwenningen, has been missing his father since Christmas.
He was last seen on the evening of 23 December in a pub in the town centre of Villingen in Baden (Schwarzwald-Baar district) and has not been found since, the Constance police headquarters confirmed to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur on Tuesday.
After the 61-year-old had left the pub on his way home, he had not been seen again. It is currently assumed that it was an accident. Initially, the newspaper “Bild” had reported on the incident.
The police are currently searching intensively for Brünker’s father and are also using rescue dogs and helicopters, the spokesperson explained. They are also trying to locate his mobile phone. Meanwhile, Kai Brünker, who has played for Magdeburg since 2020, has asked the public for tips via Instagram. “Every tip is important. If anyone has noticed anything unusual, please report it,” wrote the professional footballer.
