Fatihspor Essen is marching blithely through the Kreisliga A and has been crowned autumn champions. There can only be one goal for the promoted team: the championship.

Fatihspor Essen is and remains the absolute high-flyer in the Essen Kreisliga A until the new year. The club from Essen was only promoted this season and is now once again at the top of the league.

With 40 points, Fatihspor is ahead of its closest pursuer, SC Frintrop, and will remain at the top of the table over the winter. With only two defeats, consistency is one factor in Fatihspor’s success. In any case, the goals are clearly defined.

The first half of the season: “My conclusion of the first half of the season is definitely positive. We got the points we needed. If we look at the table, there is nothing to complain about. I am very proud of the boys. Normally, it is very difficult in the lower leagues to have a regular attendance at training and matches. That is not the case with us.”

What was your best moment?: “Well, I can’t really highlight any one particular match day. As a newly promoted team, every win was special in its own way.

What was your worst moment?: ”The first half of the season was actually one long great moment. But of course there are exceptions. I remember the defeat on the third match day against SC Frintrop. We led 3-1 for a long time and everything looked like a win. In the last few minutes, we conceded three goals and threw away the three points in the final minutes ourselves. We should have won that. Then it might even be seven points to second place.”

The goals for the new year 2024: “I’m not really someone who talks a lot. My team and I want to show what we can do on the pitch and let the football do the talking. But in any case, the goal is to keep the gap to Frintrop. As things stand, we also want to become champions.”
