FC Brünninghausen snatches captain from regional league top team

FC Brünninghausen has strengthened for the second half of the season in the Oberliga Westfalen. A leading player from the regional league is coming.

FC Brünninghausen went into the season in the Oberliga Westfalen as a promoted team without overly high expectations. Nevertheless, the outgoing coach Rafik Halim, who is leaving in the summer, was “dissatisfied” with his interim conclusion and demanded an improvement from his team.

The Dortmund team will also be supported in their relegation battle by an external new signing in the future. They have signed Tobias Hartmann. The 27-year-old defender is moving from SV Brackel 06 to FCB.

“Brünninghausen is one of the big clubs in Dortmund, and it was always a goal of mine to play for a higher-level club like FCB. I am therefore very happy that this opportunity has now arisen,” Hartmann said in a statement from the club.

The defender wore the captain’s armband in Brackel and played a successful season in the Westfalen 3 regional league. SVB is in third place in the table and is in the running for promotion. The fact that the ’06ers have the best defense in the league is certainly also thanks to Hartmann.

He is now continuing his career two leagues higher – and is no longer fighting for promotion, but for survival. “The Oberliga is of course a great incentive and I am very excited to learn a lot from the team and especially from the coaches,” emphasized the newcomer. “Training at this high level and developing as a result is a great sporting incentive for me. Therefore, I would like to do my part to help the club avoid relegation and play in the Oberliga again next year.”

In Brünninghausen, which starts the rest of the season at SpVgg Vreden on February 4, Hartmann is the first newcomer of the winter. Two players, on the other hand, have left the club: Kubilay Tekin has moved to SpVg Hagen 11 in the Landesliga. Alwin Weber is playing for SC Neheim in the Westfalenliga this year.
