FC Kray celebrates goal festival in basement duel – Zedi “a load off his mind”.

In the Oberliga Niederrhein, FC Kray won the crisis duel against FSV Duisburg clearly with 5:0 (1:0). Coach Rudi Zedi was completely satisfied with the performance.

After weeks of disappointments, FC Kray got rid of their frustration in the Oberliga Niederrhein. In the basement duel against FSV Duisburg, the Essen team put in a passionate and concentrated performance and celebrated a well-deserved 5:0 (1:0) home victory.

Head coach and sporting director Rudi Zedi was visibly relieved after the final whistle: “This was a very important step for the club, the boys on the pitch and the long-suffering fans. Finally, they were able to see a lot of goals from the team. The way it was done was impressive for me, given the enormous pressure on the young team. I can be very proud.” The 48-year-old said it was “really a load off his mind” that his eleven had “drawn this important game”.

“More than deserved by the amount” – Fadika with hat-trick

After 14 minutes and a previously missed chance by FSV Duisburg, attacker Bubakarry Fadika scored from distance for a 1-0 lead. The hosts got into the game better with each passing minute and pressed the bottom team more and more into their own half in the minutes before going into the dressing room.

Joelle Cavit Tomczak was brought down in the Duisburg penalty area, the referee pointed to the spot and Fadika converted to make it 2-0 (55). Afterwards, FC Kray presented itself in a scoring mood and hardly allowed the opponent to breathe. Offensive man Fadika rounded off his strong performance with a hat-trick (73rd), Tomczak (81st) and Danilo Settimio Curaba (87th) increased the score to 5:0.

Zedi was full of praise in his match analysis and saw “defensively as well as offensively” a “highly concentrated performance” from the Kray side over the full duration of the game. To his taste, the net could have fluttered even more often: “When you see how many high-calibre goal-scoring chances we still left lying around, then this is more than deserved. With all due respect to our opponents, we could have scored even more goals with a weaker goalkeeper.

FSV head of sport Dair: “We lacked everything “

FSV Duisburg missed the big chance to make an important break at their neighbours in the table and continue to carry the red lantern. Sporting director Mohamed Dair had clear words for the defeat: “We lacked everything against Kray that is actually important in the relegation battle. In the first few minutes, we were still somewhat in the game and had a good chance. The opponent was stronger, more motivated, more passionate. They have analysed the situation and know what it was all about. We know what we have to work on now. Wipe our mouths and move on.”

The chance for improvement comes next Sunday when Sportfreunde Hamborn 07 are our guests (3:30 pm). FC Kray will play at TVD Velbert on the same day (15:00).
