FC Kray squander two leads in top match and lose 2:3 in the end

FC Kray wanted to attack at the top of the Landesliga Niederrhein 2. After the defeat in the top match, the gap to the top has widened again.

Top match in the Landesliga Niederrhein 2: FC Kray, who have not lost in eight matchdays, faced SF Niederwenigern in a catch-up match.

Curious before the game: Kray had two games fewer than their rivals, Niederwenigern even three. Now the table is more meaningful and Kray are back at the bottom after the 2:3, because two leads were not enough to win a point.

The result in the table: Kray remain fifth, Niederwenigern jump to second place and can take over the top of the table on their own with two catch-up games behind them,

The game: Essen got off to a real lightning start here. Marc Andre Gotzeina scored after just two minutes to put FCK 1:0 ahead with the first action of the game with a great shot from outside the penalty area.

Yassine Bel-Mustapha almost increased the lead after six minutes, but his shot went just wide of the goal. However, after the hosts’ strong start, the visitors also got into the game better

After 20 minutes, Dominik Enz equalized – his 15th goal of the season. They went into the half-time break with the score at 1:1, and the first highlight after the changeover was the 2:1.

Kray’s Pascal Itter was fouled and the fouled player converted the penalty himself – 2:1 for FC Kray. But Sportfreunde came back again. Ten minutes after the 2:1, another penalty was awarded and Alexander Golz did not miss the chance – 2:2.

But the game had even more to offer. In the 78th minute, the visitors from Niederwenigern took the lead for the first time. Again it was Enz who turned the game around with his second goal. Kray almost came back, but Ayman Abdelrhman Yousif Yagoub only hit the crossbar in the 90th minute, so the score remained 2:3 from Kray’s point of view.

FC Kray continue their campaign on Sunday (3pm) against SV Biemenhorst. Niederwenigern will play at SG Essen-Schönebeck on Sunday at 1:15 p.m.
