This is bitter: FC St. Pauli has lost its promotion coach Fabian Hürzeler. He is moving to the Premier League.
The former head coach of FC St. Pauli, Fabian Hürzeler, is moving to Brighton and Hove Albion FC in the English Premier League with immediate effect.
The clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer. A decision on the future composition of the coaching team at FC St. Pauli has not yet been made.
After one and a half very successful years as head coach of FC St. Pauli, Hürzeler is leaving the Millerntor club to join Brighton and Hove Albion in England. In December 2022, sporting director Andreas Bornemann promoted the then 29-year-old Hürzeler to head coach; in the past season, FC St. Pauli achieved promotion and the championship of the2. Bundesliga.
A decision on the future composition of the coaching team at FC St. Pauli is now to be clarified as quickly as the overall situation allows.

We were aware that this could also make him interesting for other clubs. We would have liked to continue with him, but we respect his wish to take the opportunity to work in the Premier League.
