Felix Herzenbruch has found a new club

Felix Herzenbruch returns to the soccer stage. The central defender will play the second half of the season in the Regionalliga West.

At the end of October, Felix Herzenbruch announced his plans for the future in a forecasting interview. At the time, the 31-year-old, who was without a club at the time, said: “My goal is to find a new club by the winter break.”

No sooner said than done. As RS learned, Herzenbruch is joining SSVg Velbert for the second half of the season. The former Rot-Weiss Essen fan favorite will therefore lace up his boots again in the Regionalliga West. The uncompromising central defender has already played 212 games in this division for RWE, Rot-Weiss Oberhausen and Wuppertaler SV.

When asked by this editorial team, Herzenbruch confirmed his move to Velbert. The family man signed a contract until the end of the season:

The job at SSVg Velbert simply fits in perfectly with my life – both privately, but also professionally with my studies and as a footballer. Velbert plays in the regional league and the club trains in the evenings. It was simply the most logical alternative for me.
