FC Gütersloh has announced the fifth new signing for the upcoming season. The defender has already played in the Regionalliga West.
FC Gütersloh has once again made a find in its search for reinforcements for the coming season. Armin Pjetrovic is moving to the Oberliga Westfalen champions, who will compete in the Regionalliga West next season. He has signed a contract for two years.
Pjetrovic is the fifth new arrival for the promoted team – and another who brings fourth-division experience. The 26-year-old central defender comes from 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn. Pjetrovic was one of the regulars for the team from Siegen, who, as is well known, are voluntarily retiring to the Kreisliga C. He was also a member of the team’s team at the beginning of last season.
At the beginning of the past season he was hampered by an injury, otherwise he almost always played from the start (24 appearances, two goals, three assists). The 1.95-metre defender has also played for TV Herkenrath and Borussia Dortmund’s U23s in the western division of the Regionalliga (40 games in total).
“Armin is physically strong, very tall and yet relatively fast,” praised Gütersloh coach Julian Hesse in a statement from the club. “He is simply a very exciting player.”
Pjetrovic also gained international experience: he spent half a year in the Polish third division in 2018 and also played four international matches for Montenegro’s U21 team. Next season, he is expected to use his experience to help FC Gütersloh stay in the league. He is the fifth new signing for the East Westphalians.
