SV Lippstadt is playing a great season by its standards. The 08ers are right on course to stay in the league, the declared goal of the season.
19 games and 30 points: SV Lippstadt is playing a really good Regionalliga West season.
Before the season, the Lippstadt team was dubbed by some experts as a relegation candidate. But SVL has never actually been in danger this season. They are ten points ahead of the relegation places. If coach Felix Bechthold has his way, this lead should remain.
Coach Felix Bechthold about…
…the first half of the season in the Regionalliga West: “For the goals we are pursuing, we are playing a very good round. We have definitely done more right than wrong. 30 points, that’s a very solid balance sheet that shows us on a good path. That’s where we want to continue in the new year.”
…personnel changes in the winter break: “With Seung-won Lee, we have already brought in our first new player. I can’t rule out further changes. Let’s see what happens in January.”
…the goals for 2023: “The big goal is definitely to stay in the league. We want to remain in calm waters and not be in danger. Of course, those were also our goals for the first half of the season. We have mastered that well. We always proved ourselves, even in phases when things were not going well. We then showed that we came back.”
…the preparation: “The boys got plans over the holidays. Because they contested a challenge with the coaching staff and decided in their favour, we don’t start again until 7 January. Actually, 4 January was the target. On 14 January we will then test against Westfalia Rhynern, on 21 against VfB Hilden, on 22 against Hessen Kassel and on 28 against SV Rödinghausen. “
