Hertha BSC are under enormous pressure on the penultimate matchday of the Bundesliga.
They must win against VfL Bochum at the Olympiastadion on Saturday (3.30pm/Sky), otherwise the Berliners will be relegated early.
If Hertha win, the Berliners would only be three points behind the professionals from the Ruhr area. The current 15th-placed team receives Bayer Leverkusen on the last matchday. Hertha must play Wolfsburg. Schalke and VfB Stuttgart as well as TSG Hoffenheim are also still in acute danger of relegation.
The balance in the 45 duels in the national elite class so far is almost even. Hertha have won 16 games, Bochum 18, and eleven times there have been no winners.
Both teams managed only one win in the last seven games. Hertha won their last home match against VfB Stuttgart 2-1, Bochum beat FC Augsburg 3-2 on the last matchday.
The two worst defences meet at the Olympiastadion. Hertha have conceded 67 goals in their 32 games so far, while Bochum have scored 71 times.
Both teams are also far behind in terms of own goals. Hertha have scored 39 goals, Bochum only 36. Both clubs are only undercut by FC Schalke 04, who have only scored 31 times. The most successful of these were the 5:2 against Hertha and the 3:1 against Bochum.
