It had been indicated, now the change is fixed: Rot-Weiß Oberhausen has brought back a midfielder.
On Wednesday, RS had reported that Christian März would return to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. The official confirmation from the cloverleaves followed the next day. The 28-year-old will play for the West-Regionalliga club again with immediate effect. He had previously terminated his contract with TSV Steinbach.
“I am very pleased that we were able to win Christian for us,” said Oberhausen’s sporting director Patrick Bauder. “He is an absolute leader on and off the pitch. He has already proven his footballing and fighting qualities during his time with us. So he fits very well into our team, both in terms of sport and character. “
In his first two years at the Niederrhein stadium, März was a regular player, playing a total of 60 games for RWO, in which the midfielder scored six goals and set up just as many goals. His move to Steinbach did not change this status. März always played, was only slowed down once by an injury. He was also on the pitch for 90 minutes in each of the first two games of the current season.
“I am very happy to be back in Oberhausen and to be able to play in front of our fans in the Niederrhein stadium,” the returnee is quoted as saying. “I still know a few players from the old squad and am looking forward to getting to know the new guys now.”
März now wants to play a successful season with RWO. With seven points from the first three games, Mike Terranova’s team has made a promising start. It is still open how the match against the U21s of 1. FC Köln, which was abandoned at 1:4, will be rated. March could make his debut on Saturday when SV Lippstadt come to Lindnerstraße.
