1st FC Bocholt is still looking for an offensive reinforcement. Currently, an attacker wants to recommend himself for a contract at the Hünting.
In the winter, 1. FC Bocholt saw the departure of Robert Nnaji and Kento Wakamiya (both SSVg Velbert), two attacking players, and Arman Corovic, a central defender (ETB SW Essen), three players.
While the promoted team is well-positioned in defence, also due to the return of Gino Windmüller (after cruciate ligament rupture in summer, editor’s note), the shoe pinches in the offensive.
“We are looking for a flexible outfield player who is strong in one-on-one duels. It can also be a player from the 3rd league who wants to be loaned out. The main thing is that it is a man who helps us immediately and strengthens us,” Marcus John recently told RevierSport.
Such a man could be Oluwabori Falaye. The Bocholt sporting director invited him to a trial training session. The 24-year-old attacker made 39 regional league appearances for Alemannia Aachen between 2020 and 2022 (one goal). Whether the Canadian will become a topic for a permanent commitment in Bocholt is still open.
John told RS: “We are testing him right now. We’ll also have a look at him on Saturday in the test match against Meerbusch. But we also have another hot iron in the fire. However, we have to wait a few days here. Let’s see what happens in the next few days.”
1. FC Bocholt: Kevin Holzweiler not an issue for RWE
Meanwhile, Kevin Holzweiler of Rot-Weiss Essen is not an issue in Bocholt. According to information from RS, the Bocholt side have inquired about the supplementary player – three appearances for a total of 27 minutes of play – but quickly received a rejection. John and Holzweiler know each other from their times together in Mönchengladbach. But a meeting in Bocholt will not happen this winter.
