38-year-old Fabian Klos, former captain of DSC Arminia Bielefeld, is now a “MagentaSport” expert. At the beginning of the week, he was also one of the guests on the “XXL edition of the 100th MagentaSport podcast 4zu3.”
The former striker had strong words to say about Ryan Naderi’s record transfer to the third division. As is well known, the 22-year-old moved to Glasgow Rangers for a fabulous third division transfer fee of 5.5 million euros—plus bonuses!
The high transfer fee shocked MagentaSport expert Fabian Klos: “No third division player in Germany is worth 5.5 million. That’s really questionable.”
Rostock, who recently lost 3-0 to Ingolstadt and will be playing away at Hoffenheim on Sunday (February 8, 1:30 p.m.), are currently sixth in the table with promotion ambitions, but have suffered a further setback with the loss of a key player. “From a purely sporting point of view, Hansa Rostock are putting a lot at risk,” says Klos.
I can’t take my hat off enough to the development that the entire club has undergone. Everything that comes after that are all great traditional clubs that will be happy to enrich the 2nd division next season.
Fabian Klos on SC Verl
The expert sees current leaders Cottbus as the favorites for promotion: “They have the crazy Pele Wollitz on the sidelines and Tolcay Cigerci, the best player in this league.”
Verl is also a Klos candidate: “I can’t take my hat off enough to the progress the entire club has made. Everything that comes after that are all great traditional clubs that will be happy to enrich the 2nd division next season.”
Unlike in Rostock, Cottbus, or Verl, the situation is different for FC Erzgebirge Aue, who are in 17th place and threatened with relegation. Former RWE coach Christoph Dabrowski has now taken over here.
Klos said: “They now need someone who has a different approach, deals with the players differently, and kicks them up the backside a bit more. There has been no development whatsoever in twelve months. Not in any way! Neither in terms of the table, nor in terms of points, nor in terms of play.”
Dabrowski will take over in Saturday’s crisis duel (2 p.m.) against 1. FC Saarbrücken. Klos will also be following these events with interest.
