Former coach Manuel Jara returns to the Hünting

Manuel Jara was head coach at 1. FC Bocholt for several years. Now the Spaniard is returning to the Hünting in a new role.

Manuel Jara is returning to 1. FC Bocholt. The 51-year-old will become Technical Director at Bocholt Hünting from January 1, 2024.

In this newly created role, Jara will support Christopher Schorch, Managing Director of Sport and Organization, in organizational, infrastructural and sporting matters and act as a link between the senior teams and the youth department.

Jara was head coach of the 1st team of 1. FC Bocholt from 2013 to 2020, with whom he was promoted to the Oberliga Niederrhein in 2014. Since 2021, the holder of the soccer coaching license has coached the district league club TuB Bocholt.

Ludger Triphaus, President of 1. FC Bocholt, says: “Manuel Jara has a ‘lush soul’ and fits perfectly into our team of experts. But Manuel will also strengthen us professionally. We are delighted that he will help us to position ourselves even better and more broadly in his new role. With his know-how, Manuel Jara will provide additional impetus under our sports director Christopher Schorch. He will also take some of the pressure off ‘Schorchi’, who works 24/7 for FC 1 and has already achieved so much at the Hünting. Particularly in the area of our reserve and youth teams, we want to optimize FC 1 together with Manuel as Technical Director in order to get the maximum out of it and meet the high demands.”

Christopher Schorch, Managing Director of Sport and Organization, is looking forward to working with the former Bocholt coach: “We’ve had a lot of good conversations and one knows what makes the other tick. You can tell how passionate he is about his new role, especially as he really appreciates the family atmosphere at Bocholt Hünting. Manuel and I want to further professionalize FC 1 together on various levels so that the current success is not a flash in the pan, but remains sustainable.”

Manuel Jara adds: “The contact with 1. FC Bocholt has never been broken, even after my time as coach. When the concrete offer came at the end of October to support Christopher Schorch as technical director, I didn’t have to think twice. I am very grateful to all those responsible for the trust they have placed in me and I am looking forward to the task of ensuring the overall success of 1. FC Bocholt in the long term. “
