Former RWO and WSV coach Andreas Zimmermann joins this club

Andreas Zimmermann has found a new job. The well-known coach in North Rhine-Westphalia is joining the 3rd division.

SV Wehen Wiesbaden is filling the gaps. Just over a week ago, the Hessians presented Daniel Scherning as their new head coach, succeeding Nils Döring.

“In Daniel Scherning, we have gained a coach who is a great fit for our club, both professionally and personally. His experience and leadership style will give our team new impetus. We are confident that with him we will achieve our sporting goals and look forward to working together,” said Uwe Stöver, sporting director at SVWW.

And Scherning, who most recently stood on the sidelines at Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2nd Bundesliga and has 74 second division games under his belt, can now welcome an old acquaintance to his side.

As SVWW announced, Andreas Zimmermann is coming to Wiesbaden as assistant coach. The 55-year-old most recently worked with Scherning at Eintracht Braunschweig and brings with him extensive experience in professional and youth football. The Berlin native has signed a contract until 2027.

Points Table

“In Andreas Zimmermann, we are gaining an experienced and competent coach who already knows Daniel Scherning very well from their time together in Braunschweig. His technical expertise, his communicative manner, and his eye for team processes will complement our coaching team very well,” said Stöver.

During his career, Zimmermann has coached Rot Weiss Ahlen, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, and Wuppertaler SV, among others. In the Regionalliga West, he has 166 games under his belt (58 wins, 51 draws, 57 losses).

Now he is joining Wiesbaden. “I am very much looking forward to the task at SV Wehen Wiesbaden and to working with Daniel and the entire coaching team. The discussions were very trusting from the start, and I immediately sensed that the work here is professional but also passionate. I want to do my part to ensure that we achieve our sporting goals together,” said Zimmermann at the start.
