Former third division goalkeeper signs on the Werse

Rot Weiss Ahlen has strengthened its goalkeeper position one week before the restart in the Regionalliga West.

Rot Weiss Ahlen has signed another player about a week before the rest of the season starts against SC Wiedenbrück (Saturday, 4 February, 2pm).

With Till Brinkmann, a goalkeeper comes to the Werse. The 27-year-old native of Paderborn brings a lot of experience with him and last played in the Regionalliga for FC Energie Cottbus. He has been without an employer since 1 July 2022.

Before joining Cottbus, Brinkmann played for SC Verl, SC Paderborn, Germania Halberstadt and Eintracht Trier. He was trained in the youth of Arminia Bielefeld.

“I am happy to be here. The team makes a good impression and I want to play my part in achieving the goals we are aiming for,” said Brinkman after his introduction at the Werse.

Brinkmann’s career comes to 58 appearances (85 goals conceded) in the Oberliga, eight games in the Regionalliga (17) and also four matches (7) in the 3. Liga, which he played for SC Verl (three appearances) and SC Paderborn (1).

“We have two good boys between the posts in Robin Brüseke and Elvin Kovac. But Robin is currently out. With Till we get another good goalkeeper. We are now in a great position and have a lot of competition here,” Andreas Golombek, coach of the Ahlen team, explained to
