Following the signing of Julian Kania, VfL Osnabrück has now also parted ways with a striker. Exactly one year ago, this player was still in high demand.
It was January 4, 2025, when Forecasting ran the following headline on its website: “VfL Osnabrück secures Germany’s top Regionalliga scorer.” The player in question is Nikky Goguadze.
At the time, the Dutchman had scored 18 goals in 19 games for Bremer SV during the 2024/2025 Regionalliga Nord season. That was the best tally in the Regionalliga across Germany. Several third-division clubs vied for the striker, but VfL Osnabrück won the race.
One year later, Goguadze is history at the Bremer Brücke. He was unable to establish himself in the 3rd Division. In the end, the forward looks back on eight competitive appearances (two goals) for VfL Osnabrück. He is now heading back to the 4th division.
FC St. Pauli II, a team in the Northern Regional League, introduced Goguadze as a new signing. He still had a contract in Osnabrück running until June 30, 2027. Both clubs agreed to keep the transfer details confidential.
In previous years, Goguadze played several seasons for Bremer SV in the Regional League; he also gained further experience in the league with TSV Havelse and SSV Jeddeloh II. In a total of 90 Regional League matches, he scored 43 goals and provided six assists.
Carsten Rothenbach, sporting director of FC St. Pauli’s U23 team, explains: “We are very happy to have signed Nikky. He knows what it takes in this league and has consistently demonstrated his scoring ability over a long period of time. That’s why we expect him to serve as a role model for our younger players and help us regain our offensive firepower.”
“I’m looking forward to this new challenge at FC St. Pauli. Even though the team is very young and currently in a difficult situation, I’m confident in the quality of my new teammates. I hope that I can use my skills to contribute to a successful second half of the season and that we can secure our place in the league together,” adds Goguadze.
