Many suspensions even after the last matchday. Three players alone are out for VfL Bochum’s match against RB Leipzig.
An overview of the players who are suspended for matches involving the Ruhr region in the Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2 and Bundesliga 3 next weekend.
Union Berlin – BVB
Attacker Donyell Malen will be missing for BVB due to his fifth card from the game against TSG Hoffenheim (2:3) at Union Berlin. But the “Iron” also have a serious loss to lament. Top performer Robin Gosens will have to miss the game against BVB – he picked up his fifth yellow card against 1. FC Heidenheim.
VfL Bochum – RB Leipzig
VfL Bochum are out again. Two players picked up their 5th yellow card in the defeat at Borussia Mönchengladbach. As a result, defensive all-rounder Erhan Masovic and keeper Manuel Riemann will not be able to play against RB Leipzig. At least captain Anthony Losilla is back on board after his yellow card suspension. Leipzig will be without Xaver Schlager in Bochum.
Schalke 04 – FC St. Pauli
No suspensions will affect Schalke’s home game against leaders FC St. Pauli on Friday (18:30).
Rot-Weiss Essen – Unterhaching
Two players from Unterhaching picked up their 5th yellow card ahead of the visit to Hafenstraße. One was left-back Max Lamby and the other was attacker Mathias Fetsch. And RWE should take that as a good omen. After all, Fetsch scored all four goals against the Essen side in the disastrous 4-0 defeat in the first leg.
MSV Duisburg – BVB II
MSV Duisburg are under more pressure again after the last matchday in the 3rd division, with the gap to the safety margin growing to five points. Against BVB II, the team of the moment in the 3rd division, MSV will also have to do without Joshua Bitter, who was shown a red card in the first half of the 3-1 defeat at Preußen Münster. BVB II will once again be without Prince Aning, who will have to make his last appearance in Duisburg after serving his red card.
Rot-Weiß Oberhausen can tick off promotion to the 3rd division. We spoke to captain Moritz Stoppelkamp about the situation at RWO.
