The Schalke 04 squad is slowly taking shape. S04 has secured another German talent in striker Peter Remmert.
FC Schalke 04’s squad planning is picking up speed. Following the signing of central defender Martin Wasinski on Friday, Peter Remmert was signed on Saturday.
He is another addition to Schalke’s collection of promising young talent. The 18-year-old striker last played for VfL Osnabrück U19 in the A-Junior Bundesliga North/Northeast. The contract runs until June 30, 2028.
Last season, the 1.93-metre attacker, who was born in Vechta, scored four goals and provided two assists in eleven games. Before joining VfL Osnabrück, the right-footer played for JFV Nordwest.
“Peter has an extremely interesting striker profile. He has good acceleration, power in his game and the necessary technical skills,” says Schalke sporting director Marc Wilmots. “We see great development potential in him and want to support him so that he can make even better use of it.”
Schalke still looking for experienced central defenders
After Adrian Gantenbein (FC Winterthur), Ron-Thorben Hoffmann, Anton Donkor (Eintracht Braunschweig), Janik Bachmann (Hansa Rostock), Aris Bayindir (RB Leipzig U19), Martin Wasinski (KV Kotrijk) and Amin Younes (most recently without a club), S04 has now made its next signing.
And now? Schalke are still looking for two experienced central defenders. And one thing is already certain: When the professionals meet on 24 June for a performance test and two days later for their first training session on the pitch, the fans will no longer recognize the squad.
And Peter Remmert? He is looking forward to the time ahead: “When I heard about the club’s interest, I didn’t have to think long about whether I wanted to make the switch. I know that I still have a long way to go, but I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to take the next steps. “
