The last matchday of the year in the Regionalliga West is on the agenda for the coming weekend. As things stand, five of the nine scheduled matches will take place.
SV Rödinghausen’s home match against Fortuna Köln, scheduled for Saturday, has to be cancelled due to weather conditions. The weather situation of the last few days has made the grass pitch in the Häcker Wiehenstadion unplayable.
“We wanted to end the year with our fans in our own stadium and show a sporting reaction once again, but the weather has done too much to the turf. The municipality of Rödinghausen has closed all the grass pitches for the rest of the year, so unfortunately we have no other choice,” explained SVR managing director Alexander Müller. It is not yet clear when the match will be made up. Tickets purchased so far remain valid.
Previously, the games of 1. FC Bocholt against Preußen Münster and SV Lippstadt against FC Schalke 04 II have already been rescheduled. The same applies to the match between Alemannia Aachen and Fortuna Düsseldorf II.
While the matches between Lippstadt and Schalke’s U23 will be rescheduled on 22 February 2023 (Wednesday, 7pm) and Aachen against Düsseldorf (Friday, 27 January, 7.30pm), the new date for the match between Bocholt and Münster has not yet been fixed.
This means that the following games will take place on Saturday, 10 December (2 p.m.):
Borussia Mönchengladbach II – 1. FC Düren
SV Straelen – Rot-Weiß Oberhausen
SG Wattenscheid 09 – Rot Weiss Ahlen
1. FC Cologne II – 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn
SC Wiedenbrück – Wuppertaler SV
Canceled/postponed matches:
