Regional league promotion contender Türkspor Dortmund is pressing ahead with its squad planning for the coming season. The fourth new signing has already made appearances in the 3rd division.
Türkspor Dortmund will make its debut in the Regionalliga West in the 2024/25 season. The squad is to be strengthened selectively for this venture. The runners-up of the previous Oberliga Westfalen season have now announced their fourth new signing.
Migel-Max Schmeling joins the newly promoted regional league team and will play for Dortmund in the coming season. The 24-year-old arrives from Wuppertaler SV, where he has played only a minor role since his arrival last winter, making just seven appearances for the Bergisch club.
After Cebrail Akin (FC Roj), Veith Walde (SV Schermbeck) and Leonardo Marino (Rot Weiss Ahlen), Schmeling is new signing number four. On the other hand, Pascal Schmidt (TuS Bersenbrück) and Onur Cenik (SV Hohenlimburg) are two known departures. Captain and regular keeper Muhammed Acil has extended his contract.
Before his time at WSV, Schmeling already played for another Dortmund club. From August 2021 to January 2024, the Gelsenkirchen native was under contract with TuS Bövinghausen, where he played 40 games under the direction of current Türkspor coach Sebastian Tyrala. The two have a good relationship, which is why Türkspor approached the left-back
Schmeling was trained at FC Schalke 04 and MSV Duisburg, among others. The 24-year-old made his first professional appearances for the Meiderich club, playing a total of eight games for the Zebras in the 3rd division. This was followed by a year with BVB’s U23s and a one-month intermezzo at SC Verl before he moved to TuS Bövinghausen.
“Migel-Max is a very versatile player and definitely a reinforcement. He has temperament and leads the way,” said Bülent Kara, sporting director of Türkspor Dortmund, in the “Ruhr Nachrichten” about the signing of the trained left-back, who also has attacking qualities.
