To date, only two of the 13 players who left FC Schalke 04 II had found a new club. Now player number three has found what he was looking for.
After Jimmy Kaparos, who is joining third division side Rot-Weiss Essen, and Justin Treichel, who is moving to Roda Kerkrade in the Netherlands, Nelson Amadin has now also found a new club.
He is moving from FC Schalke 04 U23 to the 1st Bundesliga – to TSV Hartberg in Austria, who finished fifth in the table in the 2023/2024 season. During the winter break, an Amadin transfer to RWE fell through – Forecasting had reported. Now he’s moving on to the 1st division.
The 22-year-old Dutchman signed a two-year contract until the summer of 2026 in Hartberg, where Markus Schopp (former Bundesliga player, editor’s note) is coach.
“Nelson is an extremely exciting player and can be used flexibly in all attacking positions, right up front or coming in from the left or right. He is incredibly dynamic and has very good depth. He is also a player who can move very well between the lines and is interesting when playing set pieces. He wants to take the next step in his development and we are looking forward to spending time with him,” said Schopp.
Amadin can be used universally in attack. In his youth years, the 1.86-meter Rotterdam native played for Feyenoord. This was followed by a spell at FC Dordrecht.
In the last two and a half years, he played abroad for the first time for FC Schalke 04 II in the Regionalliga West. In 43 appearances, he scored 16 goals and provided four assists. In the past season in particular, Amadin scored 15 times. His cousin is the former Bayern and current Bologna player Joshua Zirkzee.
Amadin, who, according to forecasting information, also had several third division offers, turned them down in favor of a contract in the first Austrian Bundesliga. RS also selected the speedy winger in the “Forecasting eleven for the 2023/2024 Regionalliga West season.”
