From “outstanding” to “dream” – that’s what Münster’s match-winner said

Preußen Münster started the new year with a 2-1 win. Two offensive players who enjoyed the success to the full scored against Arminia Bielefeld.

The goals for Preußen Münster from Daniel Kyerewaa and Joel Grodowski spoke volumes against Arminia Bielefeld on this Sunday afternoon. In the first half, Kyerewaa, who had come from Schalke II, hammered the ball humorlessly under the crossbar, before Münster’s second-highest scorer in the league, sealed the first black-and-white-green Westphalia derby victory in almost ten years with another dream goal in the 67th minute of the game.

“I hit the ball well with my left foot,” Kyerewaa beamed after the 2-1 win. And further: “It’s just an awesome feeling to score again after such a long time. And then against Bielefeld. Outstanding, outstanding!”

Grodowski, who has now scored eight goals in 20 league games for SCP, also screamed his joy at the derby win through the catacombs. “A dream has come true,” revealed the striker, who not so long ago had a successful working relationship with Bielefeld’s coach Michél Kniat in Verl.

While Kniat joined the tradition-rich Arminia on July 1, 2023, Grodowski returned to the SCP – where he had already spent two seasons – on the same day after his two-year stint in East Westphalia. For the now 26-year-old, it was a return to his old love, whose colors he is now proudly wearing for a second time.

“I’ll go to bed right away, get a massage from my wife and then I’ll be fine.”

“Anyone who knows me also knows that I put my heart into it,” emphasized the lightning-fast attacker. And SCP coach Sascha Hildmann agreed with the match winner: “That was a great goal from Grodowski. I’m happy for the lad, the way he’s charging forward like a wild man.“

When it came to the statements, it probably came as no surprise to anyone that Grodowski said he was ‘relatively exhausted after 70 minutes’. The goal-getter wants to be back in top form in time for the difficult away game in Ingolstadt (Wednesday, 7 p.m.). “I’ll go to bed right away, get a massage from my wife, and then I’ll be fine.”
