SC Preußen Münster is broadening its base after its double promotion from the Regionalliga to the 2nd Bundesliga.
Further changes at SC Preußen Münster: 47-year-old Philipp Deipenbrock is moving from German champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen to Hammer Straße.
The graduate in sports management will remain head of sales and marketing at the club until mid-February 2025, before joining the management team at SC Preußen.
“We have had intensive discussions with Philipp Deipenbrock and are confident that his expertise in organization and in building and developing a successful sales and marketing business will help us move forward,” said SCP President and Chairman of the KGaA Advisory Board Dr. Bernward Maasjost. “In the sporting world, this would be considered a ‘royal transfer.’”
Deipenbrock brings a wealth of experience from various positions in professional soccer to Hammer Straße. Before joining Bayer 04 Leverkusen, he spent seven years at 1. FC Köln as Head of Service and Sales Management. He moved to this position after eleven years at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, where his responsibilities included head of ticketing, payment, and services.
“Philipp Deipenbrock is an avowed Preußen fan, a long-standing Preußen member, and has been a regular visitor to the stadium for years. He is convinced of Preußen’s approach and wants to play a part in continuing this success story. He is even willing to move from the German champions to the second division in order to play a decisive role in the further development of Preußen’s structures,” explains Frank Westermann, deputy chairman of the KGaA advisory board and chairman of the supervisory board of SC Preußen Münster. As managing director, Deipenbrock will be responsible for the increased requirements in areas such as ticketing and merchandising as well as partner management (sponsoring) and will continue to drive forward professionalization.
Ole Kittner and Dr. Markus Sass had recommended their new colleague to the advisory board and are looking forward to working with him in the future. With the appointment of Philipp Deipenbrock, the advisory board is taking another important step toward the future.
“I am really looking forward to this task and the opportunity to contribute here. Preußen Münster has come a long way – and I now want to help continue on this path. With the stadium renovation, further professionalization of the environment, and clear structures and processes, this is definitely possible,” says Deipenbrock, who also attaches great importance to cooperation with members, fans, and sponsors, adding: ”None of this can be done overnight, but we can develop step by step on a solid foundation. I am convinced of that.”
