The SG Wattenscheid loses its next player. It’s already departure number four. This man is moving to the league competition.
After Niklas Lübcke (VfL Bochum II), Nico Thier (Sportfreunde Lotte) and Frederik Wiebel (destination unknown), Nils da Costa Pereira is also leaving SG Wattenscheid 09. However, he will remain in the Oberliga Westfalen.
“We are delighted to be able to present another new signing. Nils da Costa Pereira is moving from SG Wattenscheid 09 to the Stimberg for the coming season,” read a statement from Spielvereinigung Erkenschwick.
Head of Sport Antonios Kotziampassis is delighted with Pereira’s move: “Nils can play on the entire left flank, but has mainly been used as a left-back recently. Despite only being 25 years old, Nils has already gained a lot of experience in higher-class amateur soccer. We are sure that he will be able to strengthen our team in the coming season.”
da Costa Pereira was trained in the youth ranks of Borussia Dortmund and Rot-Weiss Essen. He gained his first experience in senior soccer at Spielvereinigung Schonnebeck in Essen in the Oberliga Niederrhein. He then came to SG Wattenscheid via FC Brünninghausen, ASC Dortmund, SV Straelen and Sportfreunde Lotte. His next stop from July 1: Erkenschwick.
Erkenschwick: New keeper also arrives at the Stimberg
Erkenschwick introduced a new goalkeeper just a few days ago. Marcel Müller previously stood between the posts of the “Schwicker” for nine years until 2016. The goalkeeper can look back on over 100 games with the club in the NRW-Liga, Westfalenliga and Oberliga Westfalen. More could now be added for the new season.
The goalkeeper then moved to TuS Haltern in the summer of 2016. After two years as the regular goalkeeper, injuries put a spanner in the works for Müller. In the following two years, he only played three more games before moving to Westfalia Vinnum in 2021. Injury misfortune continued to plague him there too – a cruciate ligament injury set him back.
After a long break and several training sessions with the team in recent weeks, the keeper now wants to get back on track for the 2024/25 season. “We’re looking forward to seeing you, Marcel,” said the Spielvereinigung, welcoming the returnee
