Bitter news for Borussia Mönchengladbach. Goalkeeper and captain Jonas Omlin has to undergo shoulder surgery and will miss several months.
Bundesliga football club Borussia Mönchengladbach will have to do without regular goalkeeper and captain Jonas Omlin for longer. The Swiss player will have to undergo shoulder surgery in Zurich on Monday and will have to take a break of “several months”. This was announced by Borussia on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old injured his shoulder in training last week, and an operation is “unavoidable” according to the doctors. Last weekend, Omlin was already replaced by Moritz Nicolas in Borussia’s 1-2 defeat to Bayern Munich, while Julian Weigl will take the captain’s armband, as he did against the record champions.
