It is quiet in the environment of the SC Fortuna Cologne. Currently, one hears very little about with which squad the Fortuna will go into the new season. However, it will be without Lars Lokotsch.
In the upcoming Regionalliga West season, Fortuna Köln actually belongs to the bulk of the teams that want to set their sights on promotion, along with Alemannia Aachen, Wuppertaler SV, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and SV Rödinghausen.
But with Sascha Marquet, Fortuna has already lost one of its best scorers (nine goals and four assists) to Alemannia Aachen.
According to information from RevierSport, the Cologne team will also have to make do without Marquet’s strike partner Lars Lokotsch. Lokotsch also has 14 scoring points – 13 goals, one assist – and will leave Fortuna.
Although the 27-year-old attacker is tied to Cologne until June 30, 2024, he wants to switch. According to our information, Lokotsch’s contract also includes a five-figure sum – it is said to be 20,000 euros – which allows him to leave the club early. And this is where third division club SC Verl comes into play.
The East Westphalians are said to be in agreement with Loktosch. They want him badly and the former Rödinghausen striker also wants to go to Verl.
He already proved that Lokotsch can play in the 3rd league when he was wearing the FSV Zwickau jersey. Here he scored six goals in 48 matches. This was followed by a move to Scotland to FC Livingston. On the island, he was also loaned to Raith Rovers. In total, he only played twelve professional games there (two goals) and returned to Germany, to Fortuna Cologne in the Regionalliga West. From July 1, he will probably be back on the goal hunt in the 3rd league: at Sportclub Verl.
