SV Biemenhorst is fighting to stay in the Oberliga Niederrhein. The great hope is Luca Puhe. Several higher-ranked clubs are vying for his services.
After last weekend’s victory against VfB Homberg, SV Biemenhorst is hoping to stay in the league again. Even though Bocholt remains at the bottom of the Oberliga Niederrhein, the gap to safety is now only five points after the 3-0 win over Homberg.
What’s more, Biemenhorst has one of the league’s most prolific strikers in its ranks. Luca Puhe is the SVB’s great hope. The 23-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided six assists this season. However, Puhe, who came up through the Biemenhorst youth system, has not scored a single goal this year.
The possible reasons for his goal drought in 2026 are obvious: several regional league clubs are said to be interested in Puhe. As Forecasting has learned, the U23 teams of FC Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund, and Fortuna Düsseldorf are particularly keen to sign the striker. Oberliga club KFC Uerdingen has also expressed interest. RS reported.
Puhe remains calm when talking to Forecasting: “I read that too. Some of it is true, some of it isn’t. Borussia Dortmund is not an option. After all, I’m a Schalke fan through and through,” he says with a laugh. “That would be a dream come true. Maybe via a trial training session.”
In the past, the Gelsenkirchen club has already brought players such as Jakob Sachse and Niklas Castelle from the Oberliga or Landesliga into its U23 team. “Yes, I know that too, and that’s why it’s very interesting,” says Puhe.
1. FC Bocholt, which is right on his doorstep, also showed interest last summer. “I go to work and have an apartment to finance. I would have had to give up my job for that, and what Bocholt offered me wasn’t enough. Ultimately, we couldn’t reach a financial agreement. I haven’t heard anything from 1. FC Bocholt at the moment,” explains Puhe. The prolific striker doesn’t yet know where his path will lead in the summer of 2025. The fact is: Puhe wants to aim high or – as he emphasizes – “at least continue playing in the Oberliga.” Staying with SV Biemenhorst is not out of the question. “I don’t want to rule anything out at this point. Soccer is crazy sometimes. I also appreciate what I have here at SV Biemenhorst,” said the striker.
