SC Preußen Münster travel to TSV 1860 Munich on Saturday. The promoted team also wants to hold its own at Grünwalder Straße.
Preußen Münster are involved in the promotion battle for Bundesliga 2. The promoted third-division side are still unbeaten in the 2024 calendar year and will look to keep it that way after their away match – Saturday, March 16, 2 p.m., live ticker – at TSV 1860 Munich. Sascha Hildmann also knows that a tough task awaits the Eagles.
The SCP coach said at the press conference: “1860 Munich against Preußen Münster – that’s a traditional duel in its purest form. It will be a huge challenge for us. There will be a great atmosphere – from the 1860 and Münster fans. We’re looking forward to the game in Munich.”
He added: “We have to be diligent, work well against the ball and then we’ll try to pull it off.”
Keyword Munich: With Johannes Schenk, the Münster team have added a goalkeeper on loan from FC Bayern to their squad this season. The 21-year-old is doing so well for the Prussians that Münster would like to keep the goalkeeper in their ranks.
Münster’s head of sport is in contact with Bayern. However, a prerequisite for an extension of the loan deal would be that Schenk first extends his contract at Säbener Straße, which expires in the summer of 2025. Münster could also be a great option for Schenk from July 1. After all, the current number one of the Prussians, Maximilian Schulze Niehues, declared the end of his career after the current season.
