A great honor for Anthony Losilla. The Frenchman will soon be on par with club legend Dariusz Wosz.
At the end of last season, Anthony Losilla ended his career as an active soccer player after eleven years with VfL Bochum. Now, the eternal Frenchman in the service of VfL will get his farewell game.
Under the motto “À bientôto, Capitano!” – Farewell Game “Toto & Friends,” the Vonovia Ruhrstadion will once again fill up on September 6, 2025, for its long-time captain, who moved from Dynamo Dresden to Castroper Straße in 2014. And that is a great honor. After Dariusz Wosz, Losilla is only the second player in the long history of VfL Bochum to receive his own farewell match. In the days of “Ata” Lameck or Hermann Gerland, such events were not yet in vogue. And today, there are only a few players who remain loyal to their teams for so long – and that for many years in the second division. But 31,278 minutes, 364 games, 21 goals, and 23 assists in the club’s jersey speak for themselves.
“Stepping onto the pitch in a VfL jersey for the last time, standing in the Vonovia Ruhrstadion with the number eight on my back for the last time, wearing the captain’s armband for the last time. On Saturday, September 6, Anthony “Toto” Losilla will take to the pitch at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion for his farewell match, “Toto & Friends,” true to the motto “A bientôto, Capitano!” Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.,” announced VfL.
“I can’t wait to celebrate with the VfL fans once again after my emotional farewell at the end of the season. Of course, I’m especially looking forward to seeing many friends, long-time teammates, and companions from the past,” Losilla told the club media. “I’ve experienced so many incredible moments in my career, especially at VfL. I’m extremely grateful to the club and those responsible for giving me the honor of being only the second player after Dariusz Wosz to have a personal farewell match. It touches me and makes me proud.”
Tickets for the farewell match “Toto & Friends” will cost between €8 and €15 (reduced price between €5 and €12).
It will not be a complete farewell for VfL Bochum and its fans, as Losilla will continue to serve the club as assistant coach to Dieter Hecking starting this season.
