Disappointment in Dortmund-Aplerbeck. After only two match days, ASC 09 relinquished its lead in the table.
A 1-5 defeat against SV Schermbeck and a 1-2 loss against the second team of third division club SC Verl meant that ASC 09 Dortmund, which had previously won four games in a row, lost its lead in the table.
“We’re puzzling over why this happens to us year after year. It always happens under different coaches that we ruin our best starting positions within a few match days. But the players are almost the same. There must be something ingrained in their minds. We have to and will get to the bottom of it,” says ASC sports director Samir Habibovic.
Just two weeks ago, coach Marco Stiepermann’s team had the best offense and defense in the league. But after only two match days and two goals scored and seven conceded, those great statistics are gone. “In the last two games, we ran into the open knife too much and also made stupid individual mistakes. Somehow, I felt that the final intensity was missing. But, well, we still have plenty of games left and will hopefully learn from this bad spell,” said Habibovic.
ASC 09 Dortmund: Tim Kallenbach is fit again
He also had some good news for ASC fans at the start of the week. Tim Kallenbach, who underwent groin surgery at the beginning of the year, was able to play for ASC’s Kreisliga B team last weekend. “He was pain-free and felt good. So he’s back in the first team. Tim feels like a new signing and will be a reinforcement down the road,” Habibovic said happily.
Next Saturday, November 2 (2:30 p.m.), Dortmund will play away against the U23 team of second division club SC Preußen Münster. Habibovic is looking forward to this match. Habibovic: “We’re up against a very interesting team. But I’m sure we can hold our own in Münster. The prerequisite is that we get back to the form we had two weeks ago.”
