Six months after leaving Borussia Dortmund II, Haymenn Bah-Traore has found a new club. He is moving abroad.
After six months without a club, Haymenn Bah-Traore has found a new club. The 25-year-old, who played for Borussia Dortmund’s U23 team for five years until the summer, is moving to Finnish first division club FC Haka in the new year. Bah-Traore signed a contract with the fourth-placed team in the Veikkausliiga until 2024.
“I’m looking forward to the new challenge in Finland,” the right-back told transfermarkt.de. He had recommended himself for a commitment in the trial training – and had previously enquired with his former Dortmund team-mate Florian Krebs, who has also been under contract in Finland for a year.
Bah-Traore comes from the RWE youth team
Krebs told him “a lot of good things about the country and the league”, says Bah-Traore. “A first league is a good next step for me. The team and the coach have welcomed me very well. I can’t wait to really get going in January.”
Bah-Traore came through Rot-Weiss Essen’s youth system and gained his first senior experience at SG Wattenscheid. After one season at Lohrheide, he moved to BVB’s U23s in the summer of 2017.
He was part of the squad that beat Rot-Weiss Essen in the 2021 Regionalliga promotion race and made the jump to the 3rd division. Bah-Traore played 22 games in the pre-season, mostly as a substitute. His time with the Revierklub came to an end in the summer after a total of 70 appearances with two goals and two assists.
