Happy holidays are coming up

The RSV Meinerzhagen is right on target in the Westfalenliga 2. It shouldn’t be much more than that in the second half of the season either.

RSV Meinerzhagen has little to complain about this season. In the Westfalenliga 2, the team is on the right track to achieve its goal for the season. It doesn’t take much more than that to be satisfied. The second half of the season also marks the end of a chapter. After nine years, coach Mutlu Demir will leave RSV Meinerzhagen. But first, this season will be played to the end.

Mutlu Demir, coach of RSV Meinerzhagen, on…

The first half of the season in the league: “We’re doing okay (laughs). We have a five-point gap to the top and an eight-point gap to the bottom in a crazy, interesting and exciting Westfalenliga 2. We are still in the running for the district cup. That should make for a nice Christmas (laughs). We are very satisfied, especially after we got 19 new players over the summer.”

What has been your best moment? “Every win is great in its own way. But there was no defining moment for us. Even the defeats were educational for us.”

What was your worst moment? “That was probably the unnecessary defeat at TuS Erndtebrück. We gave everything and then made a mistake in building up. I felt sorry for the boys in particular. They didn’t deserve that.”

The goals for 2024: “The goal was a single-digit place in the table. That’s where we are now and that’s where we want to be at the end of the season. We want to finish in the top ten.”
