Once Cedric Teuchert played for FC Schalke 04, the striker will embark on a new sporting chapter from the summer.

At the beginning of May, Cedric Teuchert announced his departure from Hannover 96 and stated that he was looking to move abroad. “It’s understandable when a professional wants to do something different in his career. Cedi and his family have decided to move on elsewhere. We wish them all the best,” said 96 sporting director Marcus Mann at the time.

Just over three weeks later, this move abroad is now a done deal. His new club is St. Louis CITY SC. The club from the USA made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon. The attacker is thus moving to the MLS and will be on the hunt for goals there.

The 27-year-old Coburg native has signed a contract with St. Louis until June 2026, which can be extended until the end of 2026 with an option. He will be part of the squad from July 18, the start of the MLS summer transfer window. Former Düsseldorf player Lutz Pfannenstiel is the Missouri team’s sporting director and therefore responsible for putting together the squad.

“Cedric is a proven goalscorer who will help to improve our squad. His quality on the ball, be it in set pieces or in the penalty area, is a strength that will benefit the team,” Pfannenstiel explained when introducing the goal scorer.

Teuchert also played for Schalke – even in the Champions League

Cedric Teuchert has played more games for Hannover 96 than any other club in his career. The 27-year-old made a total of 97 appearances for the club from Lower Saxony. He scored 34 goals and set up a further 13. In the past, Teuchert also played for FC Schalke 04 in the Ruhr region.

In January 2018, the then 20-year-old transferred from 1. FC Nürnberg to the miners for a transfer fee of one million euros. Around four months later, the 1.82-meter man was runner-up with S04. However, Teuchert only played 15 competitive matches for Schalke, including two in the Champions League. He was then loaned out to Hannover 96 in 2019, followed by a permanent move to Union Berlin a year later. He returned to Hannover in 2022
