Alemannia Aachen is currently top of the table in the Regionalliga West. Top scorer Anton Heinz has played a major role in the club’s success.
21 regional league games, 13 goals and six assists – that is Anton Heinz’s remarkable record in the Alemannia Aachen shirt. It’s no wonder that Heinz is his team’s top scorer with 19 goals. His 13 goals this season are unrivaled in the league, and the 26-year-old leads the Regionalliga West scoring charts.
In the most recent league game against his former club Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, the offensive player scored a brace to become the match winner and contributed significantly to Alemannia Aachen’s first place in the table after 21 games (tied on points with 1. FC Bocholt).
Heinz scored the 2-0 against RWO once again from a free kick, his very own specialty. It was already the sixth direct free kick goal in the current season. This allowed the Bielefeld native to break his own record from the 2022-23 season, when he scored five free kicks at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
However, the new record was not the only reason for the marksman to celebrate: Heinz celebrated a personal milestone against RWO, playing his 150th game in the Regionalliga West. In these 150 games for SC Verl, SV Lippstadt, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and now Alemannia Aachen, the 1.87-meter man was directly involved in a total of 78 goals (48 goals, 30 assists).
In the coming weeks and months, Anton Heinz will then have the chance to further expand his personal best and also improve his goal scoring rate. The next game is on Sunday (February 18, 2 p.m.) for Heinz and Co. Then the Kaiserstädter will be guests at the U23 of FC Schalke 04 in the Parkstadion.
