The Berliners won 4:1 (1:1) against Borussia Mönchengladbach at their home Olympic Stadium on Sunday. Jessic Ngankam (30th minute), Marton Dardai (52nd), Derry Scherhant (90.+1) and Dodi Lukebakio (90.+7/foul penalty) scored Hertha’s first Bundesliga win of the year.

Thanks to the victory, coach Sandro Schwarz’s team left the direct relegation places and ousted VfB Stuttgart from the relegation place 16. Nico Elvedi (17.) had put the guests in the lead, who slipped down to tenth place in the table due to the defeat.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt suffered a setback in the fight for Champions League places. The Europa League winners lost their away match at 1. FC Köln 0:3 (0:0) on Sunday and slipped to sixth place in the Bundesliga table. The goals for Cologne, who still have hopes of European Cup participation, were scored by Timo Hübers (49th minute) and Ellyes Skhiri with a brace (71st and 86th) after the break.
