Goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck of second division football club Hertha BSC has left the Berlin club’s training camp in Zell am See following a police investigation.
The club confirmed this on Monday morning. “The sporting management and the management will now evaluate the situation together internally, taking into account the ongoing investigations,” the club announced.
Due to the ongoing investigations, the club did not want to comment further. According to media reports, the 28-year-old keeper, who only returned to his youth club from Karlsruhe this summer, was involved in a physical altercation in Austria.
Coach Pal Dardai is preparing his team for the start of the second division on 29 July at Fortuna Düsseldorf in Zell am See until Friday following the team’s relegation from the Bundesliga.
