KFC Uerdingen has published its winter schedule. Among other things, there are test matches against a third division team and two regional league teams.
After a generally disappointing first half of the season, KFC Uerdingen want to attack again in the new year. New coach Björn Joppe has not written off promotion yet – despite being seven points behind league leader SSVg Velbert.
Accordingly, the Krefeld team is preparing for the second half of the season, which begins on 4 February (6 pm) with a home match against SV Sonsbeck. KFC have already arranged five test matches, three of which are against higher-class opponents.
On Thursday, 5 January, one day after the start of preparation, the Uerdingen team will face MSV Duisburg. The away game at the neighbour and rival from past third league times, however, will take place without spectators.
KFC Uerdingen play five test matches in January
This also applies to the home match against regional league team Alemannia Aachen the following week (Wednesday, 11 January). Here, too, testing will take place under exclusion of the public. KFC did not provide any information about the kick-off times of the two matches.
The situation is different in the next three tests. Here, the Uerdingen side will face regional league side Fortuna Köln (Friday, 13 January, 2 p.m., away) as well as Mittelrheinligisten FC Hürth (Saturday, 21 January, 4 p.m., away) and Bonner SC (Saturday, 28 January, 2 p.m., away).
