Preußen Münster lost the NRW duel at Rot-Weiss Essen after conceding a late goal. Coach Sascha Hildmann was annoyed by the result.
Preußen Münster was already within reach of a point in the West clash at Rot-Weiss Essen. But in the fourth minute of injury time, Thomas Eisfeld scored for RWE and dealt the Eagles a bitter blow.
“It was a very entertaining game, but unfortunately with the wrong outcome. We lost very unluckily,” coach Sascha Hildmann summed up afterwards on Magenta Sport.
“I told the team that it was really a good game. Especially in the second half, we had many chances that didn’t go in.” The SCP coach directed praise at Essen goalkeeper Jakob Golz, who once again proved his brilliant form on Sunday evening. “He kept them alive.”
However, the Red-Whites also came up with good opportunities. “It was an exchange of blows, the visor was turned up, it was partly a game of errors.” After winning the ball, his team played too inaccurately in some areas, “which meant we put Essen back into their transition game. “
According to Hildmann, partly to blame: the pitch at Hafenstraße, which continues to be in a disastrous condition. “The pitch plays a role in many inaccuracies.”
Hildmann also criticised the way the goal was scored. Münster’s Sebastian Mrowca was actually on the ball early enough and could have cleared the onrushing Cedric Harenbrock. But the defensive player missed the ball. “That’s a mistake that simply shouldn’t happen,” Hildmann was annoyed.
However, the 51-year-old also drew confidence from his team’s performance. “If we keep playing like this, we will win games, so we want to build on that.”
And then come back to a better result. Things continue for Prussia, who are on four points after four matchdays, next Saturday (2 September, 2 p.m., RS-Liveticker) with a home match against Waldhof Mannheim.
