Julian Brandt senses trouble. “This could be embarrassing,” says the Borussia Dortmund pro before the quiz duel with his buddy Kai Havertz.
The opening question in the humorous video from the German national soccer team: Who knows whom better? And there are indeed a few pitfalls lurking.
Brandt kicks off the “Best Friends Test” and immediately needs help with the question of who Havertz scored his first international goal against. “Dude, you can’t mess this up already,” says Havertz and laughs. But Brandt comes up with the answer: 2019 against Argentina.
He also guesses Havertz’s favorite stadiums (Wembley and Tivoli), but gets the DFB favorite jersey wrong – it’s the pink one. Havertz immediately admits that he considers himself the better Fortnite player, and after a little threat (“If you don’t know that, Digger, our friendship is over”), he also knows the names of his friend’s dogs: Balou, Summer, and Pooch.
Havertz fails to answer questions about Brandt’s favorite food (spaghetti aglio e olio), his favorite anime character (Law), and the funniest DFB colleague (Pascal Groß). However, he does know Brandt’s favorite vacation spot (Ibiza), his former jersey numbers in Leverkusen (10, 19), and the player he considers the best in the world (Vinicius Jr.).
With the score at 4-3, Brandt has match point: would Havertz rather score with his head or his foot? When Brandt holds up the board with the word “head” written on it, Havertz feigns outrage: “Dude, how stupid are you, seriously?!”
So shaken, he misses the chance to equalize. Brandt’s youth club? Havertz has it on the tip of his tongue. “Delmenhorst?” Brandt laughs, “that’s insane,” he says. “Borgenfels or something?” Wrong again. SC Borgfeld is the answer, and Brandt wins. “That was an awesome game,” says Havertz.
