FC Schalke 04 is currently still in the lead when it comes to home matches. While an average of 61,470 fans have wanted to see the Royal Blues’ home games so far, “only” 55,510 fans have made the pilgrimage to Hamburger SV’s stadium on average, according to the portal “diefalscheneun.de”.

If the miners do not suffer a slump in attendance in the remaining home matches, they are likely to set a new record for the 2nd division at the end of the season. So far, this record has been held by HSV with an average of 53,470 fans!

However, the current situation is somewhat different for away fans. Hamburger SV has now overtaken FC Schalke 04 in this respect. After around 20,000 HSV supporters traveled to the away game at Hertha BSC Berlin last Saturday, the miners are now only in second place.
