The winter break is approaching and with it the transfer period. ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen has already secured its first signing. RevierSport has learned of this.
A few days ago, Karl Weiß, chairman of ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen, was still satisfied with the way the season had gone for the Oberliga club.
“We want to continue working like this without going crazy now. We are not planning to attack SSVg now. I believe that SSVg will also manage to win promotion this season. Damian Apfeld and Ulf Ripke are doing an excellent job. They have a young team that has a lot of potential,” praised Weiß to RevierSport.
However, former Ratingen coach Weiß did not mention that ETB had already secured their first winter signing. Now RevierSport has learned that the Black and Whites have reached an agreement with Arman Corovic.
According to the report, the former Bocholt player will join ETB coach Apfeld’s team on 1 January 2023. The 25-year-old failed to make an impact at 1. FC Bocholt – only seven Regionalliga appearances totalling 357 minutes – and will hope for more match practice at the Uhlenkrug.
Centre-back Corovic enjoyed a good education and played in the youth development centres of Bayer 04 Leverkusen (2009 to 2011), VfL Bochum (2011-2014), TSV 1860 Munich (2014-12/2014), Rot-Weiss Essen (2015-2016) and Greuther Fürth (2016-2018). Later, he was still under contract with FSV Duisburg, VfB Speldorf and, since 1 July 2019, Bocholt.
In total, the former Bosnia-Herzegovina U21 international has 64 Oberliga appearances and 42 matches in the Regionalliga West and Bayern. The most games in his career, 50 in number, he played for Bocholt. From 1 January 2023, the first games in the jersey of ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen will then be added to this.
