FC Viktoria Köln went into the international break with a 4-1 win over TSV Havelse. After the break, they will travel to Rot-Weiss Essen.
Viktoria Köln didn’t give the promoted team from Havelse a chance and, after three unbeaten games, is currently fifth in the promotion zone. TSV, for whom Besfort Kolgeci missed a penalty in stoppage time in the first half, are still waiting for their first win of the season. Marian Wilhelm, coach of Viktoria Köln, told “Magenta Sport”: “I wasn’t very happy going into halftime. We gave away a lot, which we don’t need to do in a game like this. We were too inactive at times and lacked intensity in some situations. That makes me all the more proud of how clinical we were in the important moments. It’s absolutely fine that we won. It shows where we’ve come: that we can still win a game like this, which isn’t quite at our limit, so clearly. I’m happy about that because it shows the progress the boys are making.”
After the international break, Viktoria will travel to Rot-Weiss Essen in top form on Saturday, October 18, at 4:30 p.m. It’s always a close match.
Meanwhile, Samir Ferchichi, coach of TSV Havelse, was not in such a good mood: “We need too many chances to be successful in the end. We came out of the first half 0-2 down due to the missed penalty, but we’re still active. We have to work extremely hard to create scoring chances. When we do get them, we have to be more clinical and put them in the net.”
