In XXL test – narrow defeat against second division team

SC Preußen Münster’s second test match was a tough one. The third division team played SC Paderborn from the 2nd Bundesliga for 120 minutes.

At the start of the test match series, the offensive line of SC Preußen Münster was still able to play freely. Against the district league team Rot-Weiß Damme, the team scored a clear 18:0. On Wednesday afternoon, however, the first endurance test followed.

The Münster team met SC Paderborn for an XXL test. There were two 60-minute blocks against the second-division team around striker Max Kruse, with a total of four 30-minute games. In the first hour, one eleven was allowed to prove itself, in the second then the next.

Initially, Sascha Hildmann relied on newcomers Luca Bazzoli, Daniel Kyerewaa and Rico Preißinger, among others. However, they did not get off to a good start. After only three minutes, Florent Muslija converted a penalty kick to make it 0:1.

Small defeat in the first hour

Prussia then got into the game a little better, but Gerrit Wegkamp narrowly missed the equaliser (20th). Around the 40-minute mark, things got turbulent. First, it was Muslija again who gave SCP the 2:0 lead, but Shaibou Oubeyapwa restored it almost immediately (38th).

But it did not last long either. Leipertz put Paderborn 3:1 in front after 41 minutes. Nevertheless, the team of the first 60 minutes came back shortly before the end. Wegkamp took advantage of a mistake in the Paderborn defence to make it 2:3 from Preußen’s point of view.

In the second hour, Sebastian Mrowca and Joel Grodowski were also allowed to play. Only Dominik Schad, who was only introduced in the morning, was not yet part of the six newcomers.

The second part of the test from the 60th minute onwards was much more disciplined. The hosts from Paderborn had more of the game, but initially there were no chances on either side.

It took until the 100th minute, but then the new, experienced attacking duo of SC Paderborn was on the spot. Adriano Grimaldi headed Max Kruse’s cross over the line for 4:2.

But at least the second half was not to be lost for the third division team. Dennis Grote scored shortly before the end to make it 3:4 (118th).
