Ingolstadt, Mannheim and Wolfsburg are missing key players

There’s still a lot at stake for the big clubs in the region. Every suspension hurts, but the clubs from our region don’t have much to complain about.

The final spurt in the leagues and there are fewer players who have to take a break due to yellow or red cards. Here is an overview up to the 3rd division, there are already a few important absentees.

BVB – Bayer Leverkusen

Borussia Dortmund are still fighting to qualify for the Champions League. Both teams will have to do without an established attacking force against the new German champions.

BVB will be without Karim Adeyemi after his yellow card. Leverkusen will be without Amin Adli due to his fifth yellow card.

VfL Wolfsburg – VfL Bochum

While Bochum do not have to replace anyone in the basement duel with the “Wolves”, VfL are missing former Schalke player Moritz Jenz. The regular central defender is missing after picking up his fifth yellow card. FC Elversberg – Schalke 04

Neither team is affected by a suspension.

Waldhof Mannheim – Rot-Weiss Essen

Both teams have to cope with a bitter loss. While the hosts will have to do without their captain Marcel Seegert in the relegation battle, RWE will have to replace left-back Lucas Brumme (fifth yellow card). Seegert has made 26 appearances this season, while Brumme has made 30. Torben Müssel and Vinko Sapina have four cautions for Essen ahead of the game.

FC Ingolstadt – MSV Duisburg

Only the home side have to serve a suspension. Lukas Fröde picked up his tenth yellow card and will miss the game against the “Zebras”. For MSV, however, seven players – Alaa Bakir, Marvin Knoll, Jonas Michelbrink, Robin Müller, Thomas Pledl, Marvin Senger and Niclas Stierlin – are suspended and will have to sit out if they receive a further caution.

Preußen Münster – SC Freiburg II

Neither team is affected by a suspension.

VfB Lübeck – BVB U23

Lübeck, who are in serious danger of relegation, will be without one of their key players against Borussia Dortmund’s U23s. Mirko Boland picked up his tenth yellow card and will have to sit out for one match
