The transfer of the 19-year-old star from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid is perfect. Contract until 2029, triple-digit million buyout.
Through ad hoc news, Borussia Dortmund confirmed last week that Jude Bellingham will leave the Bundesliga football club to join Real Madrid. BVB confirmed this on Wednesday afternoon. The 19-year-old England international has agreed a contract with the Spanish top club until 2029.
Nothing was disclosed about the transfer fee, but it is made up of a high fixed sum as well as performance-related variables spread over a period of six years, BVB explained. According to reports, the transfer fee is a fixed €103 million, with up to 30 per cent of that could be added as bonuses.
“We thank Jude for three years of passion for Borussia Dortmund. It was a fantastic time together,” said Hans-Joachim Watzke, chairman of the BVB management, adding: “Our thanks also go to Real Madrid for the always fair and constructive talks.”
Bellingham: 24 goals and 25 assists for BVB
Jude Bellingham had moved to Borussia Dortmund from English second division club Birmingham City in the Corona summer of 2020 shortly after his 17th birthday and has developed into a top performer in his total of 132 appearances in the black and yellow jersey (24 goals, 25 assists).
“Jude has had a very positive development with us at a young age,” sports director Sebastian Kehl points out: “He has now decided that he wants to take the step to Real Madrid right now. We thank him for all he has given us and our game and wish Jude all, all the best for the future!”
“Thank you to everyone at BVB and to the fans for everything over the past three years. It has been an honour to wear your jersey so many times, in big and small moments. Even though I’m looking forward to my next destination, I’ll never forget the journey there. Once a Borussian, always a Borussian. All the best for the future. Heja BVB!”, says Jude Bellingham.
