On Sunday, the top match of the Kreisliga A between Westfalia Dortmund and Sharri Dortmund is coming up. Forecasting spoke with Maurice Temme ahead of the game.
On Sunday, October 24, the top match in the Dortmund Kreisliga A will take place: Westfalia Dortmund will host Sharri Dortmund at 3:15 p.m. (Forecasting will provide live coverage of the match).
Westfalia is at the top of the table with 25 points from ten games. The team, coached by founder Maurice Temme, was only founded in 2022. Since then, it has gone unbeaten all the way to Kreisliga A. The Dortmund team has already scored 62 goals this season.
But the winning streak has come to an end: on the last match day, they suffered a 1-3 defeat against Dortsfelder SC, the first sporting defeat in the club’s history.
Forecasting spoke to Temme ahead of the top-of-the-table clash:
Maurice Temme, how was the mood after the defeat?
The mood was quite normal. We took a sober look at the whole thing, discussed the mistakes and then focused straight away on our next opponent.
What conclusions can be drawn from the defeat?
We didn’t really get our finishing right in the game. Of course, the opponents were also very deep and compact at the back. In the end, three individual mistakes led to the goals. We also let ourselves be intimidated by the emotionality of the Dorstfeld players and didn’t play as dominantly anymore.
The top match is coming up on Sunday: What kind of game are you expecting?
What I’ve seen from Sharri is that they also play very dominantly and like to get actively involved. I’m curious to see how much respect they have for us and how they react offensively or defensively. But they will certainly want to bring their offensive strengths into play.
I expect it to be very heated again. They’ll be fired up and give it their all. But overall, there are only heated games left in this attractive league.
Maurice Temme.
What kind of atmosphere do you expect against Sharri Dortmund?
I expect it to be very heated again. They’ll be fired up and give it their all. But overall, there are only heated games left in this attractive league. However, we also know that the season is still very long, so we’re not going in there as if we’re unbeatable.
What kind of atmosphere are you hoping for on Sunday?
We always have our 100 spectators. I think the visitors will bring some fans with them and that one or two soccer enthusiasts will want to watch the game. I’m expecting 300 to 400 spectators and am really looking forward to it.
How are things looking in terms of personnel?
We still have three players suspended from the last game. It’s obviously extremely disappointing that three players from the starting line-up will be missing. Otherwise, there are only minor absences to report. We are as well prepared as we can be for the game and the rest is up to the lads on Sunday.
