He will be a household name to fans of Rot-Weiss Essen and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen: Jan-Lucas Dorow. The offensive player has found a new club.
After four years in the Ruhr area, Jan-Lucas Dorow is leaving football’s west and moving to the south-west of the republic. Dorow, who spent the last two seasons with Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, signed with Eintracht Trier.
He has a contract with the traditional club from the Mosel until the summer of 2025 and is expected to help ensure that Germany’s oldest city will once again see fourth-division football in at least one year. Eintracht will start the new series in the fifth-class Oberliga.
“I am happy to be back in the region. It makes me happy to have landed at Eintracht and I want to do my part to achieve the goals we have set,” said Dorow about his move to Trier.
In his younger years, Dorow played for SG Blaubach-Diedelkof, SV Kohlbachtal and 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Among other things, he played in the Junior Bundesliga and the Junior DFB Cup.
Jan-Lucas Dorow: 44 games for RWE and 61 games for RWO
In the men’s game, the 30-year-old played four times in the 2nd Bundesliga, eight times in the 3rd Liga, 90 times in the Regionalliga West and 169 times in the Regionalliga Südwest. He played for 1. FC Kaiserslautern, 1.FSV Mainz 05 II, VfR Wormatia Worms, Rot-Weiss Essen and most recently Rot- Weiß Oberhausen. Dorow played 44 competitive games for RWE (five goals, nine assists) and 61 games for RWO (ten goals, seven assists). The ten-man, who will also wear the “10” at Eintracht, played the most games in his career for Wormatia Worms (108 games, 28 goals, 17 assists).
“He will improve our offensive game with his quality and experience. Jan-Lucas is a very reliable and creative player. After long negotiations, we are very happy that he has decided to join Eintracht,” Eintracht team manager Stefan Fleck is pleased about the signing of Jan-Lucas Dorow.
